Volunteers offer help with income-tax preparation

Volunteers trained by the Internal Revenue Service will offer free income tax assistance beginning Thursday at the Boulevard Mall, 3528 S. Maryland Parkway.
Volunteers will answer questions and assist with preparing returns at the mall's community booth on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. through April 11.
Information on filing and policy changes will be available and interested participants are asked to come prepared with their 1996 income tax returns, forms for their 1997 returns, copies of W-2 forms, Social Security numbers for all dependents and additional information pertinent to their return.
For more information on free income tax assistance, call the Internal Revenue Service at (800) 829-1040.
