Deaths


     Walter Abram
     
     
Walter Charles Abram, 56, died Friday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was born Oct. 9, 1941, in Orange, Texas, was a retired bartender in the gaming industry, and a 25-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his sons, Ronald and Douglas, both of Las Vegas; brother, John Jr. of Vinton, La.; and five grandchildren.
      Affordable Cremation & Burial Service handled the arrangements.
     
     Sam Beckerman
     
     
Sam Beckerman, 73, died Friday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      An Army veteran of World War II, he was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Chicago, was a retired vice president in the coffee industry and a seven-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Rose of Las Vegas; son, Ken of Mill Valley, Calif.; and brother, Leonard of Chicago.
      Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary-Jones.
     
     Lillian Boltz
     
     
Lillian Boltz, 90, died Friday in a Henderson hospital.
      A homemaker, she was born April 1, 1907, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a three-year resident of Henderson.
      She is survived by her daughters, Lila DeSio, Myrtle Smith and Virginia Tryee; son, Richard Condit; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
      Graveside Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary-Eastern handled the arrangements.
     
     LinnŽ Cord
     
     
LinnŽ Cord, 96, died Saturday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      A homemaker, she was born Dec. 25, 1901, in Duluth, Minn., was active in the Republican Party and a 47-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her brother, Lester Anderson of Portland, Ore.
      Services were held. Palm Mortuary-Downtown handled the arrangements.
     
     Johnny Cox
     
     
Johnny Cox, 60, died Thursday in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      A supervisor in the construction industry, he was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Philadelphia and was a 23-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Lynne Myrden of Las Vegas; sons, Joe Nolan and Steve Nolan, both of Cape May, N.J.; daughters, Cheryl Bunch and Terri Kenne, both of Las Vegas; mother, Mae Cox of San Gabriel, Calif.; sisters, Marie Kern of California and Joan Carrion of Reno; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
      Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Good Samaritan Lutheran Church. Affordable Cremation & Burial Service handled the arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to the church, Inter-Faith Hospitality Network.
     
     Charles Fansher
     
     
Charles D. Fansher, 45, died Thursday in a Henderson hospital.
      A Marine veteran, he was born June 11, 1952, in Chico, Calif., was a slot floor person in the casino industry and a lifetime resident of Henderson.
      He is survived by his daughter, Angel; son, Danny; parents, Evelyn and Charles; sisters, Leana and Linda; and brothers, Ronald and George, all of Henderson.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today with services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary-Henderson. The family requests memorial donations be made to Disabled American Veterans Van Program.
     
     Julie Faoa
     
     
Julie "Juliana" Agnus Faoa, 54, died Wednesday.
      A homemaker, she was born May 9, 1943, in American Samoa and was a five-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, Tilo Tilo of Las Vegas; daughters, Janice of Long Beach, Calif., Malososoo of Buena Park, Calif., and Leilia Finn of Las Vegas; sons, Taufoli of Riverside, Calif., and Douglas of Las Vegas; brothers, Harbor Mageo of Riverside, Mose Katina of American Samoa and Nuuelua Taesali of Long Beach; sister, Takipo Lightfoot of Honolulu; and 11 grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday with services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home followed with burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
     
     Paul Funches
     
     
Paul Loren Funches, 32, died Saturday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      An electrician in the construction industry, he was born March 9, 1965, in San Diego and was a 20-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his daughter, Aubrianna; parents, Freida "Geri" and Joseph Jr.; brothers, Joseph III, Terryl and Shawn, all of Las Vegas, and Gerald of San Diego; and sister, Fonda of Dallas.
      Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern followed with burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. The family requests memorial donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
     
     Arturo Jimenez
     
     
Arturo "Chaparrito" Jimenez, 69, died Sunday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      A retired restaurant cook, he was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and was a 24-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Epifania; daughter, Laura Ayala; sons, Art and Ricardo, all of Las Vegas, and Victor of New York City; sisters, Felicidad Agiss and Felicitad; brother, Raul, all of Mexico; and five grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with services at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The family requests memorial donations be made to The American Diabetes Association.
     
     Martin Quinn
     
     
Martin Wayne Quinn, 48, died Saturday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      An owner/operator of health food retail stores, he was born March 9, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., and was an 11-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his companion, Jeffrey Burke of Las Vegas; sisters, Sandy and Barbara; and brothers, Michael, all of Baltimore, and Chris Burke of Milford, Mich.
      Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern.
     
     Doris Snouffer
     
     
Doris Snouffer, 68, died Thursday.
      A homemaker, she was born July 3, 1929, in Gallipolis, Ohio, and was an eight-year resident of North Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Auske of Sidney, Ohio, and Cathy Diener of Huntsville, Ohio; sons, Terry of North Las Vegas and James Taylor Jr. of Ostrander, Ohio; sister, Ruth Harless of Monroe, Utah; brothers, Clyde Valentine of California, Charles Valentine of Charleston, W.Va., Paul Valentine of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Frank Valentine of Waverly, Ohio, and Leo Valentine of Gallipolis; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
      Palm Mortuary-Downtown handled the arrangements.
     
     Maggie Wilkins
     
     
Maggie Allen Wilkins, 92, died Sunday.
      An inspector, she was born Sept. 19, 1905, in North Carolina and was a longtime resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her son, Forrest Jr.; daughters, Betty Rigsby, both of Las Vegas, and Linda Richer; sister, Anna Riley, both of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Service's. Burial will be in North Carolina.
