     Review-Journal

An Indiana man was killed and two others seriously injured in a Saturday afternoon accident on U.S. Highway 95, about 16 miles north of Las Vegas.
Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Steve Harney said that at 4 p.m., a pickup traveling south on U.S. 95 entered the median. The vehicle went into a skid and overturned several times.
Two passengers in the truck who were not wearing seat belts, Lee Northern, 29, and Tammy Rusch, 37, both of Evansville, Ind., were thrown from the truck. The driver of the vehicle, Stephen Wainman, 33, of Las Vegas, was wearing his seat belt and remained inside the cab.
All three were taken to University Medical Center, where Northern died at 9:02 p.m. Saturday. Rusch was listed in critical condition Sunday, and Wainman was listed in serious condition.
"We don't know what they were doing at the time or where they were headed because we haven't been able to talk to anybody involved," Harney said.
