Roy Anderson Roy Anderson, 91, died Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital. A retired motel manager, he was born March 2, 1906, in Evanston, Wyo., and was a 35-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Bohart of Las Vegas, Betty Nagel of Denver and Millie Golder of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; brother, Russell of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mountain View Presbyterian Church. The family requests memorial donations be made to the church or the Alzheimer's Association. Palm Mortuary-Downtown handled arrangements. James Avellino James Avellino, 76, died Thursday in a Las Vegas care center. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Boston and was a retired motel owner and a 15-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Vesta of Las Vegas; sons, Kenneth of Highland, Utah, and James of Ames, Iowa; brother, Tony; and sister, Phyllis Addivinola, both of Massachusetts; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Jones. Mary Beauvais Mary Beauvais, 81, died Wednesday in Oak View, Calif. A real estate broker, she was born May 28, 1916, in Victoria, British Columbia, and was a resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her sons, Keith of Oak View and Raymond of Detroit; sister, Alma Satterlee of Los Osos, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held in California. Clausen Funeral Home, Ojai, Calif., handled arrangements. Bettie Budwee Bettie Joanne Budwee, 65, died Thursday in a Las Vegas care center. A retired chip person in gaming, she was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Stillwater, Okla., and was a 25-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Adams; and son, Terry Scarcelli, both of Las Vegas; mother, Alice White of Whittier, Calif.; brother, Jimmy Galloway of Kennewick, Wash.; sister, Carolyn Fisher of Salinas, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Affordable Cremation & Burial Service. Buford Claborn Buford Harold Claborn, 51, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital. A truck driver, he was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Long Beach, Calif., and was a one-year resident of Searchlight. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; sons, Buford and Sean; mother, Grace Long; brothers, Joe and Ray; sisters, Linda Rose and Bonnie Heath; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 in Searchlight Community Church. Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements. Grace Cohen Grace F. Cohen, 69, died Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital. A retired secretary for the federal government, she was born April 29, 1928, in Russia and was a five-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her husband, Jack of Las Vegas; daughters, Francine Bronstein of Van Nuys, Calif., Janice Cohen-Tepper of Las Vegas and Arlene of Santa Maria, Calif.; sister, Francis Sterin of Las Vegas; brother, Lou Fratkin of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. The family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite temple. Ava Connelly Ava G. Connelly, 72, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas care center. A waitress, she was born July 22, 1925, in Indiana and was a five-year resident of Las Vegas. Dosey, 65, died Wednesday in a local hospital. A clerk for the federal government, he was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Washington, D.C., and was a six-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Las Vegas; sons, Terry of Maryland, and Barry and John, both of Las Vegas; stepfather, Frank Braculis of Las Vegas; brothers, Tom of Spokane, Wash., and George of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Bunkers Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary handled arrangements. Dale Eoff Dale William Eoff, 46, died Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital. A bartender in a restaurant, he was born Dec. 7, 1951, in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a 13-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his son, Monte of Lakewood, Calif.; parents, Zoe and William, both of Aztec, N.M.; sisters, Zorena Anderson of Durango, Colo., and Zenise Miles of Albuquerque; brothers, Randy of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Larson of Durango; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern. Ludovic Filgas Ludovic Stanley Filgas, 76, died Feb. 6. A retired Air Force pilot who served during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War, he was born May 1, 1921, in Clovis, Calif., and was a 25-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Virda of Las Vegas; and sons, Stanley and Pat; brothers, Frank, Tom and Eli; and sisters, Helen Holecek and Lullian Hoker, all of Fresno, Calif. Services are private. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society handled arrangements. Dorothy Freedman Dorothy Freedman, 79, died Thursday. She was born Oct. 27, 1918, in St. Paul, Minn., and was a five-year resident of Henderson. She is survived by her husband, Norman of Henderson; daughters, Barbara Gaverilli of Van Nuys, Calif., and Lori Meyers of Simi Valley, Calif.; sister, Marcie Solomon of Culver City, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Services will be held in Los Angeles. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rosemary Hulse Rosemary Raylene Hulse, an infant, died Feb. 6. She was born Sept. 13, 1997. She is survived by her parents, Sandra Garrison and Michael; and brothers, Jonathan Garrison and Michael, all of North Las Vegas; and sister, Tiffany Murillo of Riverside, Calif. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hites Funeral Service. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Elvin Hutchinson Elvin Lowell "Hutch" Hutchinson, 68, died Feb. 7. An Army veteran of the Korean War and recipient of the Purple Heart, he was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Alabama and was a retired ship inspector for the federal government and a 19-year resident of Las Vegas. He was a pilot and flight instructor and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his daughters, Carla, Sheila and Bonnie; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held. The family requests memorial donations be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Burial Fund. Hites Funeral Service handled arrangements. Mildred McClellan Mildred H. McClellan, 65, died Wednesday. A retired registered nurse, she was born June 23, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York City, and was an 11-year resident of Henderson. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Grinnell of Dexter, Maine, Kathy of Brunswick, Maine, and Susan Morrill of North Yarmouth, Maine; sons, Charles of Lincolnville, Maine, and Alan of Texas; brother, William Hughes of Sparks; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Carriage House. American Burial & Cremation Services handled arrangements. Harold McClure Harold Glenn McClure, 67, died Tuesday in a local hospital. A veteran of World War II, he was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Anchorage, Alaska, and was a cook in a hotel-casino and a 30-year resident of North Las Vegas. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy May; and sons, Bobby May and Andrew May, all of Henderson. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday in American Burial & Cremation Services. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Edwina Smith Edwina Constance Smith, 78, died Feb. 8 in a local care center. A retired administrative assistant in hardware manufacturing, she was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Butte, N.D., and was an eight-year resident of Henderson. She is survived by her son, Paul of Phoenix; daughter, Mary Scialabba; and sister, Mary St. Clair, both of Henderson; brother, Raymond Brosterhous of Hemet, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with a service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary-Henderson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Dorothy Warrington Dorothy L. "Momo" Warrington, 93, died Thursday. She was born Nov. 26, 1904, in Albert City, Iowa, and was a four-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Canady of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Funeral Home handled arrangements.
