Secretary of State Dean Heller said Friday business filings at his office increased 25 percent in the first fiscal year's first five months.
Nevada continues to rank 10th in corporate filings nationally, according to Dun & Bradstreet Corp. Florida ranked No. 1 nationally.
The state office counted 15,893 entities that filed to do business in Nevada as corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships during the five months ending in November.
The state office expects to top $32 million by the end of the fiscal year, according to Scott Anderson, deputy for commercial recordings.
"The large increase clearly reflects the success of our innovations which have been embraced by the business world as well as the public," Heller said.
"In order to meet the growing demand for service, we have reorganized the office and utilized technology for the most efficient and cost-effective result," he said.
