Deaths


     Dominic D'Amario
     
     
Dominic Leo D'Amario, 88, died Friday.
      He was born June 14, 1910 in Italy and was a gardener.
      He is survived by his daughters, Violet Babcock and Beverley Huffman, both of California and Roberta Taylor of Nevada; sisters, Josephine Melcher and Mary Schonback, both of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
      Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. The family requests memorial donations be made to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas building fund.
     
     Charles Fenison
     
     
Charles W. Fenison, 68, died Thursday.
      An Air Force Veteran and a retired electronics engineer, he was born in Oklahoma and was an eight-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his sons, Michael of San Diego and William of Las Vegas; daughters, Cheryl Walton of Riverton, Wyo., Lori Clark and Lisa Petri, both of Las Vegas; sisters, Doris Richards of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and Nita White of Michigan; brothers, Hal and Richard of Arizona, and Bill of Reno; and 10 grandchildren.
      Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.
     
     Lauren Henrie
     
     
Lauren Bell Henrie, infant, died June 27 in a Las Vegas hospital.
      She was born May 25 in Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her parents, Susan and Troy; sister, McKenna; and brothers, Jordan and Jacob, all of Henderson; and grandparents, Marianne Bell and Gary Bell, both of Vancouver, Wash., Linda Nelson of Las Vegas and James of Sacramento, Calif.
      Services were held. Palm Mortuary-Eastern handled arrangements.
     
     Dorothy Nicks
     
     
Dorothy Jean Nicks, 74, died Tuesday in Las Vegas.
      She was born April 28, 1924 in Arnold, Kansas, was a cafeteria manager and a 56-year resident of Sparks, Nev.
      She is survived by her sons, James of St. George, Utah and Gary of Henderson; daughters, Daryl Hewitt and Mary Alice, both of Las Vegas, stepsons, Terry of Seattle Wash. and Al of Farmington, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Paradise Valley Gardens.
     
     Luciano Rosales
     
     
Luciano Rosales, 62, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
      He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Vicente Gerrero, Durango, Mexico. A kitchen worker in a hotel/casino, he was an 18-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Celia; sons, Luis and Miguel; and daughter, Maribel, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
      Visitation will be from 12 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary following in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park-Downtown. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
     
     Barbara Rose-Allen
     
     
Barbara Anne Rose-Allen, 64, died Wednesday in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      She was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. A retired aero space engineer, she was a 20-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Rose Family Organization.
      She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Anne Shoemaker of Las Vegas; son, Mark Little, of San Rafael, Calif.; brothers, Dennis Rose of Oregon; sister, Melody Agin of San Rafael, Calif.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
      The family requests memorial donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Affordable Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements.
     
     Rose Sakowicz
     
     
Rose T. Sakowicz, 67, died Thursday in Las Vegas.
      She was born Sept. 28, 1930 in Illinois, was a writer in the entertainment industry and was a 14-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by he husband, Sig of Las Vegas; and daughter Christine Samaan of Chicago.
      Services will be held in Chicago. The family requests memorial donations be made to P.A.C.-Childrens Hospital Fund, 6100 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL 60646. Hites Funeral Services, Inc. handled arrangements.
     
     John Selle
     
     
John Fredrick Selle, 58, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      He was born Aug. 31, 1939 in Gainsville, Fla., was a Coast Guard veteran, a retired sports handicapper in the gaming industry and a 25-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Lura Beshears of Las Vegas, sons, Scott and Todd of Phoenix, and Steve of Las Vegas; daughter, Christine of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Anne Powell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one grandchild.
      Services will be private. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
      Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society handled arrangements.
     
     Dan Smith
     
     
Dan C. Smith, 78, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      He was born July 31, 1919, in Lake Providence, La. A veteran of World War II, he was a retired janitor for the United States Government, and a 33-year resident of North Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his daughters, Blanchie Davis of North Las Vegas, and Emelda Washington of Las Vegas; sons, Clifton and Lovell, both of Las Vegas; brother, Levi of Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
     
     William Stewart
     
     
William Stewart, 59, died June 27.
      He was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Maryland. A Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a construction laborer and a short time resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his mother, Dora Taylor; daughters, Stephanie Dixon and Sharron; five brothers; five sisters; and three grandchildren.
      Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
