Culture Shock Las Vegas to present song and dance show at Palo Verde High School

Culture Shock Las Vegas will present its second annual song and dance production, "Takin' It to the Streets," at 2 p.m. Aug. 8-9 at Palo Verde High School, 333 Husite Drive.
The production benefits Culture Shock's Future Shock Youth Outreach Program through workshops and educational assistance. The group also provides uniforms for members.
Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Group discounts are available.
Tickets can be purchased at Vintage Retro, 906 S. Valley View Blvd., and Ultimate Body in the Las Vegas Athletic Club, 2655 S. Maryland Parkway, or by phone at 233-3038.
The Las Vegas organization will be joined by other Culture Shock companies from San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles as well as a French company from Paris.
There also will be a special performance by local entertainer Earl Turner, cast members from "Imagine" and "Spellbound," and singer Kristine W.
The production is sponsored by Mirage Resorts Inc., Human Behavioral Institute, JNCO Industries, Las Vegas Athletic Clubs and Nike Inc.
The 4-year-old organization uses street dance to reach out to young people, steering them away from drugs, violence and hatred into a lifestyle that promotes acceptance, achievement, health and self confidence.
The local Future Shock group has 25 members between the ages of 11-17.
