      TOASTMASTERS

NCSC MEETING
      The National Council of Senior Citizens will hold a general meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Guest speakers will include Joyce Newman of United Shareholders Association of Nevada Inc. and Jonathan Levenson of Wedbush Morgan Securities Inc. FRATERNITY MEETING
      The Las Vegas Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Pines Golf Club, 3415 E. Bonanza Road. Charlene Green of Clark County School District will present "Making a Difference in Children's Lives." Prospective members are welcome (799-1200).
     
AMC MEETING
      The Alternative Medicine Club will hold its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wellness Institute of Nevada, 2559 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The event is open to all interested persons (896-2700).
     
PASTEL ARTISTS
      The Nevada Pastel Society will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. A show-and-tell session will be featured. The group welcomes all artists who are interested in promoting pastel as an artistic medium (254-1938).
      CLIMBERS LIAISON COUNCIL
      The Climbers Liaison Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area visitors center, approximately 15 miles west of Las Vegas off Charleston Boulevard. All climbers are welcome. Call (702) 233-4356 for more information.
      SUBMARINE VETERANS

      SUPPORT GROUPS
      Women in Support of Healing, a breast cancer support group, will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest Medical Associates Breast Care Center, 888 S. Rancho Drive. A support group for spouses and significant others will meet at the same time and location. All meetings are free and open to the public (877-5253).
      The Southern Nevada Association of Polio Survivors will hold its monthly support group meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Call 644-5091 or 731-5204 for more information.
      The Southern Nevada Center for Independent Living sponsors a disability peer support group. Meetings are held at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays. Call 649-3822 for more information.
      Las Vegas Gam-Anon of Southern Nevada, a 12-step support group for family and friends of the compulsive gambler, holds meetings throughout the week. Call 655-8184 for more information.
      Family and Child Treatment of Southern Nevada, 4800 W. Charleston Blvd., offers counseling for victims of abuse and their families. Classes for teens, preteens, women and parents are held in English and Spanish on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Call 258-5855 for further information.
     
The American Lung Association of Nevada sponsors the Better Breathers Club, an information and support group for people with lung disease, their families and friends. The group meets at several locations in the Las Vegas Valley. There is no fee. Call 431-6333 for more information.
      BIRD CLUB
      The Red Rock Audubon Society will hold a general meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nevada Division of Wildlife, 4747 W. Vegas Drive. Jack Norman of the Bureau of Land Management will discuss tamarisk control in Southern Nevada (453-2434).
      The group will sponsor a field trip from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the RRAS sanctuary at Wheeler Camp Springs. Call 364-8340 for details. Both events are open to the public.
      GARDEN CLUB
      The Rose Garden Club will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nevada Garden Club Center, 3333 W. Washington Ave. Lee Heenan, American Rose Society life judge, will discuss the care of roses. New members are welcome (452-9448).
      DEMOCRATIC CLUB
      The Paradise Democratic Club will hold its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Days Inn Motel, 707 E. Fremont St. Guest speaker will be District Court Judge Nancy Saitta. New officers will be installed. All Democrats are welcome (363-2456).
      GOLDEN CHAI SENIORS
      The Golden Chai Seniors of Congregation Ner Tamid will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at 2761 Emerson Ave. Singer Bobby Shawn and his Bag of Tricks will perform. Games will follow. Everyone is welcome (655-8603).
      TALL CLUB
      The Tall Club of Las Vegas meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at Thumpers, 3870 E. Flamingo Road. Those who meet minimum height requirements of 5 feet 10 inches for women and 6 feet 2 inches for men are invited (641-9296).
      OUTDOORS GROUP

      ABWA MEETING
      The Pinon Pines Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Marie Callender's, 4875 W. Flamingo Road. Sandi Levy Barbero of Southwest Passage will present information on the hot line and crisis center. Call 228-8787 for reservations.
      QI GONG CLASS
      An ongoing Qi Gong class, the ancient Chinese art of developing energy for health and vitality, is offered at 6 p.m. Thursdays at St. Rose Dominican Medical Center, 105 Pecos Road, Henderson. Cost is $3. Call 564-4761 to register.
      JBS MEETING
      The local chapter of the John Birch Society will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive. The program will feature the video "The United Nations: A Look into the Future" (655-1955 or 658-4715).
      ROCK ART ENTHUSIASTS
      The Southern Nevada Rock Art Enthusiasts will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Las Vegas Library, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Artist Jane Bush will speak on the depiction of women in rock art. Everyone is welcome (645-7450).
      MOTHERS OF MULTIPLES CLUBS

      The Las Vegas Mothers of Twins Club, an education and social group for mothers of multiples, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Southwest Medical Associates, 2300 W. Charleston Blvd. (223-0266).
      CCNGS MEETING
      The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave. The program will feature research sources for Maine, Oregon, South Carolina, Oklahoma, North and South Dakota, and Wyoming. Jeff Kintop of Nevada State Archives will speak.       SKI CLUB

TROA MEETING

GAMBLE-AIRES

      SINGLES GROUPS

Living Large in Las Vegas, a singles group for large people and their friends, will meet for a day in the snow at 10 a.m. Sunday at Mount Charleston. Call 585-2425 for more information.
      DANCE
      The Southern Nevada Chapter of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association and the Rebel Ballroom Club will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Moyer Student Union at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S.
