  •       Cafe Lago, 8400 W. Sahara Ave., will hold A Taste of Tuscany featuring wine, food and art from Tuscany, Italy, Monday.
          An art show and reception kick off the evening at 5 p.m., followed by a winemaker dinner at 8 p.m. The menu will feature confit of duck, porcini ravioli with sautˇed leeks, roasted red pepper and sea scallop bisque, braised rabbit with ratatouille and creamy polenta and dessert.
          Artist Gina M. Cinque will exhibit her contemporary mixed-media paintings at the event.
          Wines to be served will be from the Antinori winery, including Villa Antinori Bianco Toscana, Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva, Antinori Santa Cristina Sangiovese and Antinori Orvieto Classico Campogrande. Joe Labrie of the winery will be on hand to discuss the wines.
          Cost is $75 per person. Reservations are required by calling Cafe Lago at 255-1955.
          -- Steiner's -- A Nevada Style Pub, 8410 W. Cheyenne Ave., will be hosting its first Brew Dinner on July 14.
          Held 8 -10 p.m., the event will feature a four-course gourmet dinner prepared by executive chef Gary Leiser, with each course accompanied by a different beer.
          Cigars, giveaways and $10 of video-poker play are included in the ticket price of $50 per person. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased by calling Steiner's at 395-8777.
          -- Alex Samuelson has joined McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, 3763 Howard Hughes Parkway, as its executive chef.
          Samuelson was educated at the Culinary Institute of America, graduating in 1986. He has worked at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Fla., and The Mark restaurant in Palm Beach, Fla.
