  •      The Boot Stompin' 'n' BBQ will take place 11 a.m.-7 p.m. June 19 at MGM Grand Adventures theme park, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
The theme park will be transformed into a country-Western environment, complete with a chuck wagon barbecue, gunfighters and trick ropers.
Live entertainment will fill three outdoor stages with cowboy poetry readings, cowboy karaoke and country bands. Strolling cowpokes, Texas wranglers and shot-glass slinging waitresses will roam the streets while line dancing demonstrations take place throughout the day.
Participants can climb aboard a mechanical horse and try their luck at roping a mechanical calf.
Doug Stone is set to headline the entertainment. His hits include "(I'd Be Better Off) In a Pine Box," "I Thought It Was You," "In a Different Light" and "Make up in Love."
Admission is $15, which includes unlimited access to all rides, shows and entertainment with the exception of SkyScreamer. Children under 42 inches tall are admitted free. For more information, call 891-7979.
