     Mary Altenburger
     
     
Mary Altenburger, 86, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas care center.
      She was born Jan. 2, 1913, in Lawton, Okla. The retired owner of a trailer park, she was a 55-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of Sunrise Hospital Auxiliary.
      She is survived by her stepdaughters, Barbara Nicholas of Las Vegas, Judith Holz of Chandler, Ariz., and Suzanne Holland of Vancouver, Wash.
      Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park-Downtown. The family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Association. Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne handled arrangements.
     
     Billy Balfour
     
     
Billy Balfour, 81, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      He was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Bronx, N.Y. An Army veteran of World War II, he was the retired owner of a retail sales company and a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Sheila; and daughter, Roberta Elliott, both of Las Vegas.
      Palm Mortuary-Jones handled arrangements.
     
     Robert Boswell
     
     
Robert Boswell, 80, died Sept. 12 in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      He was born June 13, 1919, in Jennings, Neb. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a house painter, a 39-year resident of Henderson and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
      He is survived by his daughters, Connie Hansen of Las Vegas and Phyllis Allen of Iowa Falls, Iowa; son, Robert of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
      Graveside services will be at 2:15 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society handled arrangements.
     
     Gary Brown
     
     
Gary Brown, 39, died Tuesday in North Hempstead, N.Y.
      He was born Feb. 25, 1960, in California. An automotive detailer, he was a former five-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Elmont, N.Y.; daughter, Cheyenne; and father, Jack, both of Los Angeles; mother, Josephine; brother, Jack; and sisters, Judy and Yolanda, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
      Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with services at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
     
     Frank Campagna
     
     
Frank Campagna, 64, died Wednesday in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      He was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A retired dealer in gaming, he was a 32-year resident of Henderson.
      He is survived by his wife, Annette of Henderson; son, Frank of Las Vegas; daughters, Lisa of California and Rene of Las Vegas; sister, Andrea Volpe of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with services at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
     
     D. Tom Cook
     
     
D. Tom Cook, 62, died Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      He was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Warren, Ohio. An Air Force veteran, he was the owner of Awards Won trophy shop and a 33-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Beverly; and daughters, Vickie Schwaegerle and Susan, all of Las Vegas; son, James of North Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from noon until services at 3 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 2 in Palm Memorial Park.

Betty Ezell, 69, died Tuesday.
      She was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Texas. A homemaker, she was a 36-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her sons, Alphonso Bigelow and Jeffrey Brown, both of California; daughters, Rose Thomas and Janice Thomas, both of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
      Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Joseph Feo, 82, died Sept. 3 in a Las Vegas hospital.
      He was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Illinois. A retired building engineer, he was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his son, A. Joseph Field.

     Kenneth Fetters
     
     
Kenneth Fetters, 58, died Aug. 21.
      He was born May 15, 1941, in Indiana. A dispatcher in the automotive industry, he was a resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his son, Ken; and daughter, Miranda, both of Indiana.
      Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.
     
     Stanley Fitch
     
     
Stanley Fitch, 70, died Tuesday in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Bronx, N.Y. A retired sales representative for supermarket provisions, he was a six-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his son, Lawrence of Orange, Calif.; daughter, Sherri Limon of Temecula, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
      Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern followed by graveside services in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Nancy A. Fowler, 41, died Tuesday.
      She was born July 27, 1958, in Newark, N.J. An Army veteran, she was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, John; mother, Theresa Ann Przydzial; and sister, Joyce Melchionna, all of Las Vegas; and brothers, Michael Astrumn of Sayreville, N.J., and Louis Przydzial of Las Vegas.
      Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary-Jones followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mona Diayne Fuller, 69, died Aug. 18 at home.
      She was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Illinois. The owner of a bridal veil company, she was a seven-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her son, Gary Amsterdam; daughters, Adene Balzer and Susan Amsterdam; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The Rev. John Henry Jr., 72, died Sept. 10.
      He was born May 6, 1927, in Tallulah, La. A pastor of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, he was a former sous-chef and a 40-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Eliza; and daughter, Lenorthen Brewer, both of Las Vegas; sons, John III of Chicago, and Van Patrick, Enoch, Mark and Timothy, all of Las Vegas; brothers, Willie Walker, John Walker, Herman Walker, William Walker and Roy Walker, all of Las Vegas, A.J. of Oakland, Calif., Eugene of Compton, Calif., and Moses and Robert, both of Monroe, La.; sisters, Suzie Butler and Mattie Stevenson, both of Las Vegas, Queenesther Thomas of Natchez, Miss., and Irene Douglas, Mertis Williams, Julia Davis and Emma Thomas, all of Baton Rouge, La.; 28 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today in New Light Missionary Baptist Church with services at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. American Burial & Cremation Services handled arrangements.
     
     Bessie Kennedy
     
     
Bessie R. Kennedy, 58, died Sept. 11.
      She was born Dec. 11, 1940, in Louisiana. A homemaker, she was a 35-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, L.C. of Las Vegas; brothers, Ollie Jackson of Midland, Texas, George Jackson of Lubbock, Texas, and James Jackson of Monroe, La.; and sisters, Helen Williams of Las Vegas, Cassie Wyatt and Annie Mae Jacobs, both of Richmond, Calif., Louise Skinner of Oakland, Calif., and Mary Oats of Seminole, Texas.
      Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuary with services at 11 a.m. Saturday in Goodwill Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Richard J. Lausch, 71, died Tuesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      He was born May 30, 1928, in Joliet, Ill. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired laborer and a 19-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Ann of Las Vegas; stepdaughter, Ronda Vega; brother, Jack of Joliet; and five grandchildren.
      Visitation was held Thursday in Palm Mortuary-Downtown.
     
     Nels Lindberg
     
     
Nels Pearson Lindberg, 37, died Wednesday at home.
      He was born May 5, 1962, in Chicago. A farmer, he was a resident of Pahrump.
      He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and son, Nicholas, both of Pahrump.
      Services are private. Valley Memorial Crematory handled arrangements.
     
     Robert Mauger
     
     
Robert E. Mauger, 64, died Sept. 7 at home.
      He was born Sept. 20, 1934, in Stowe, Pa. A carpenter, he was a 20-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Edna David-Ortize, Crystal Belanger and Kottie Kemp; and son, Todd Kemp, of Las Vegas; brother, Earnest of Pennsylvania; and eight grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon today in Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society followed by graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
     
     Allen Moler
     
     
Allen "A.J." Moler, 38, died Sept. 13.
      He was born Dec. 18, 1960, in Cheyenne, Wyo. A Marine Corps veteran, he was the owner of Las Vegas Skydiving Center and a 33-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his sons, Jacob and Justice; mother, Alice Madden; and father, Thomas, all of Las Vegas; sister, Geralyn of Greenwich, N.Y.; and brothers, John, Timothy and Brian, all of Las Vegas, Russell of Detroit and Blane of Miami.
      Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne and at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church. The family requests memorial donations be made to University Medical Center Burn Unit.
     
     Richard Pugliese
     
     
Richard E. Pugliese, 72, died Sept. 12 in a local care center.
      He was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Vandergrift, Pa. A retired engineering consultant, he was a seven-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Republican Presidential Task Force.
      He is survived by his wife, Mary of Las Vegas; sons, Richard of Vandergrift and Michael of Arvada, Colo.; brothers, Fred of Spring Church, Pa., and Melvin of Salt Lake City; sisters, Theresa Eggert of Pittsburgh, Esther McMakowski of Vandergrift and Elaine Marsilio of Torrance, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
      Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church followed by graveside services in Bunkers Memory Gardens Memorial Park. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, S.D., 57326. Affordable Cremation & Burial Service handled arrangements.

Adah Lyman Demille Rivers, 87, died Thursday.
      She was born July 18, 1912, in Parowan, Utah. A homemaker, she was a three-year resident of North Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her sons, Hal Demille of North Las Vegas and Greg Demille of Bloomington, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Norman Ronke, 68, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      He was born Aug. 2, 1931, in La Crosse, Wis. An Air Force veteran, he was a parts manager and a 28-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Helen.
      Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Mary E. Rubin, 46, died Monday in Tombstone, Ariz.
      She was born Feb. 25, 1953, in Marion, Ohio. A lab technician supervisor in a hospital, she was a former longtime resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her parents, Don and Betty, both of Las Vegas; stepson, Marty; and sisters, Donna Idol, Sandura Serrao and Theresa Najemian.
      A celebration of life will be held today in Hatfield Funeral Home, Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Louis Schanoes, 100, died Wednesday.
      He was born July 16, 1899, in Russia. A restaurant owner, he was a resident of Las Vegas.
      Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.
     
     Milton Schwartz
     
     
Milton Schwartz, 81, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      He was born April 19, 1918, in New York. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a retired restaurant owner and a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Judith of Las Vegas; sons, Brad of New York, Arthur of Boulder, Colo., and Richard of Boca Raton, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
      Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home. Burial is private.
     
     Leland Smith
     
     
Leland Geary Smith, 71, died Sunday.
      He was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Hayward, Calif. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a lobbyist in the mining industry and a longtime resident of Reno and Las Vegas.
      He was a member of Nevada Mining Association, Nevada Manufacturers Association of Reno and Sparks, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Community College of Southern Nevada Presidents Advisory Board and McCaw School of Mines Foundation Board.
      He is survived by his sons, Sean, Steve and John, all of Reno; Brother, Jack of Hayward, Calif.; and one grandson.
      Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Trinity Episcopal Church, Reno. The family requests memorial donations be made to McCaw School of Mines, 57 Lynn Lane, Henderson, 89015; Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, 2680 E. 19th St., Reno, 89512; or Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Ave., Reno, 89501. Kathy Stout, 56, died Tuesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
      She was born March 20, 1943, in Minneapolis. A homemaker, she was a 37-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, Denzil; and daughters, Cheryl Prenger and Dawn Prenger, all of Las Vegas; sons, Joseph of Jerome, Idaho, and Vernon of Las Vegas; parents, Florence Culhane and Gordon Culhane, both of Minneapolis; sisters, Constance Kaiser of Chicago City, Minn., and Mary Culhane of Minneapolis; brothers, Jerome Culhane of Sacramento, Calif., and Thomas Culhane of Minneapolis; and nine grandchildren.
      Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary-Jones handled arrangements.

Nathan "Speed" Tapler, 88, died Wednesday.
      He was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Philadelphia. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired warehouse supervisor and a two-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his daughter, Rhona Myers of Las Vegas; sister, Lena Sargen of Delray Beach, Fla.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
      Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Palm Memorial Park-Northwest. Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne handled arrangements.
     
     Merlin Windham
     
     
Merlin A. "Win" Windham, 67, died Saturday.
      He was born April 5, 1932, in Iowa. An Air Force veteran, he was the owner of a restaurant and a 14-year resident of Las Vegas.
