Studying the Good Book pays off for teens in national Bible competition

The Rev. Tom Van Kempen throws down the biblical gauntlet: Name the five verses in five specific books of the New Testament that mention Timothy.
      Valerie Marchalonis, 17, is the first to respond. Her chin tips downward slightly and her unblinking eyes focus on the ground a few feet in front of her as she mentally reviews the 500-plus Bible verses she's spent much of the last year committing to memory.
