A new era for UNLV basketball began Saturday without Bill Bayno but with the players Bayno recruited.

With Max Good now in charge and promising to spread the minutes throughout his roster, the Rebels played with renewed enthusiasm and confidence against No. 17 Cincinnati at the Thomas & Mack Center. In terms of talent, however, UNLV is not quite at the Bearcats' level, and the visitors' experience in big games showed as Cincinnati came away with a 90-72 victory.
