U.S. hopes to get out of Africa with victory against Zimbabwe

HARARE, Zimbabwe -- With John McEnroe making his debut as U.S. captain, Andre Agassi of Las Vegas leads an injury-depleted American team against Zimbabwe in the first round of the Davis Cup this weekend, while Australia opens defense of its title against Switzerland.
      In other World Group ties, the Czech Republic plays host to Britain, Italy travels to Spain, Russia is at home against Belgium, Slovakia plays host to Austria, France plays at Brazil, and Germany is home vs. the Netherlands.

      Lynn McGruder, considered the state's top football prospect by recruiting experts, said he will announce today which school he will attend. McGruder, a defensive tackle at Cheyenne High School, said the choice is between UNLV and Tennessee.
