  •      Singer Bobby Vinton is set to kick off the 2000 Spring Concert Series at 3 p.m. March 13 at the Flamingo Hilton Laughlin, 1900 S. Casino Drive.
The performance will be Vinton's first Laughlin appearance. Another first, a Laughlin performance by the Righteous Brothers, concludes the series at 8 p.m. May 20.
Other concerts in the series will feature Sawyer Brown, 9 p.m. April 8; Lynyrd Skynyrd, 9 p.m. April 28 and 29; and Engelbert Humperdinck, 8 p.m. May 13.
Vinton, whose song list of hits dates back nearly 30 years, is credited with having the most No. 1 singles of any American male vocalist from 1962-72. He has sold more than 50 million records in his career. Vinton's Laughlin concert will be backed by a 10-piece orchestra. Tickets start at $20.
Sawyer Brown's career has spanned nearly 16 years and has produced several No. 1 singles. The band took home the TNN/Music City News Top Vocal Band Award six times. Tickets start at $25.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's signature sound is a blend of guitar-driven rock with Southern blues roots. The band lineup includes Gary Rossington (guitars), Billy Powell (piano), Leon Wilkeson (bass) and frontman Johnny Van Zant. Tickets start at $28.
Humperdinck started his career nearly 30 years ago and has since amassed 3 million fan club members. Songs such as "Release Me" and "After the Lovin' " have won him numerous awards including the Golden Globe's Entertainer of the Year in 1988 and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also has been nominated for four Grammys. Tickets start at $25.
The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, first sang together in a small Southern California nightclub in the early '60s. They quickly developed a stage act with the urgent back-and-forth vocal exchanges that were to later give birth to the phrase "Blue-eyed Soul."
The duo has recorded hits such as "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and "Unchained Melody." While Medley has performed in Laughlin before, this will be the first time Hatfield has joined him in Laughlin. Tickets start at $25.
