SOLID SENIOR: Fleisher lets others fold

Bruce Fleisher had his victory speech ready a little early in the Las Vegas Senior Classic, but on a day when the wind made the Tournament Players Club at Summerlin a treacherous place, he got away with it.

Fleisher made the fewest errors of any of the leaders and wound up with his first victory in nearly nine months on the Senior PGA Tour. He shot a 2-under-par 70 to finish at 8-under 208 and win the $210,000 first prize, edging Hale Irwin, Jose Maria Canizares, Vicente Fernandez, Walter Hall and Doug Tewell by three shots each.

Light action saves day for sports books

Hasim Rahman's knockout victory over Lennox Lewis was certainly a major upset, but fortunately for Las Vegas sports books, the fight was not heavily bet, sports book managers said Sunday.

Rahman knocked out Lewis with a big right hand in the fifth round Saturday night in Brakpan, South Africa, to capture Lewis' World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation heavyweight championships.
