Julio Bernal Julio Bernal, 37, died Wednesday. He was born Jan. 2, 1964, in Cuba. A dishwasher, he was a six-month resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his brother, Nestor of Las Vegas. Burial is private. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements. Saul Bottfeld Saul "Sol" Bottfeld, 75, died Friday at a Henderson hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Bronx, N.Y. A retired TV serviceman, he was a 22-year resident of Henderson and a member of Jewish War Veterans, City of Hope and Valley Outreach Synagogue. He is survived by his wife, Pearl of Henderson; son, Gary of Fairfield, Conn.; daughters, Sharon Haber of Beverly Hills, Calif., and Debbie Smith of Canyon Country, Calif.; brother, Bernard of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren. He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in New Jersey. A Marine Corps veteran, he was a plumber, a 13-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of Marine Force Association. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Wade and Bonnie Verssen; brother, Charles; sister, Marie Sherman; and nine grandchildren. Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements. Lois Cowger Lois Cowger, 89, died Thursday at a Las Vegas hospital. She was born May 19, 1912, in Boone, Iowa. A retired supervisor in a hotel, she was a 47-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Culinary union. She is survived by her daughters, Marie Atcheson of Las Vegas and Shirley Inman of Highland, Calif.; son, Max Clark of Seattle; sister, Marie Malmburg of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society. Palm Mortuary-Eastern handled arrangements. Elizabeth Fleming Elizabeth Mary Fleming, 76, died Thursday. She was born April 24, 1925, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A homemaker, she was a 15-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Kilduff of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; son, Robert of Manassas, Va.; brother, Frank Alexander of Winnipeg; sister, Dorothy Banks of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren. A veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, he was a switchman for a railroad and a six-month resident of Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Henderson; daughters, Vicki Cook of West Covina, Calif., and Jeanne Ham of Henderson; brothers, Murray of Hutchinson, Kan., and Donald of Temple City, Calif.; sister, Norma James of Kamloops, British Columbia; and four grandchildren. He was born July 19, 1937, in Hailey, Idaho. An Air Force veteran, he was an electrician for a hotel-casino, a 25-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357 and Las Vegas Gem Club. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mona; and daughter, Melanie, both of Las Vegas; and sisters, Jodi Domka of Meridian, Idaho, and Ardean Duffel of Twin Falls, Idaho. A retired waitress in a hotel-casino, she was a 51-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Emblem Club. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne and one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mustang and Cheyenne chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Paradise Memorial Gardens. Lea Kephart Lea Kephart, 76, died Wednesday. She was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Belgium. A retired claims processor for an insurance company, she was a three-year resident of Pahrump and a former resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her son, Edmand of Pahrump; and a granddaughter. Walt Kozlowski Walt Kozlowski, 64, died Thursday at a Las Vegas care center. He was born Feb. 8, 1937, in Milwaukee. A retired independent consultant, he was a 41-year resident of Las Vegas, the owner of Mirage and Executive Travel agencies and an electrical engineer at the Nevada Test Site. He was past chairman of Clark County Republican Central Committee and lobbied for the creation of the Nevada State Park and BLM participation in the Red Rock Recreation Area. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Vought, Kim Leaver and Terry, all of Las Vegas; stepson, Todd Colyer of Pahrump; and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Wisconsin. Kuka, 64, died Wednesday at a Las Vegas hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Chicago. A Marine Corps veteran, he was a retired hotelier, a three-year resident of Henderson and a member of Newport Lodge 118, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and Osman Temple AAONMS. He is survived by his wife, June of Henderson; daughters, Monica Falk and Nicole, both of Minneapolis, and Danielle Kuka-McGowan of St. Paul, Minn.; stepson, Ryan Kavooras of White Water, Wis.; and six grandchildren. Visitation will begin with a service at 7 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church, where services will be at 10 am. Monday. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Kurilla and Anthony Kurilla, both of Las Vegas, and Charles Kurilla of Seattle; daughters, Diane Haberman of Las Vegas, Kathryn White of Kansas City, Mo., and Sharon Croom of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers, Ora Rosse of Truman, Ark., and Sam Rosse of Jonesboro, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a carpenter in construction and a 15-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Marijo of Las Vegas; daughters, Leeann of San Diego and Wynne Samuels of Puyallup, Wash.; sons, M. David and Alexander Jr., both of San Diego; brothers, Thomas, James, Michael and Vince; and sister, Angie Domineco, all of Hammonton; and two grandchildren. Clode Moats Clode Jerrette Moats, 71, died Wednesday. He was born July 24, 1930, in Pennsylvania. An Army Air Corps pilot, he was a nine-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of Otter Cariboy Association and American Legion.
