SHOW SCHEDULED

Joe Williams tribute raises funds for group

The Las Vegas chapter of

Justice-Unity-Generosity-

Service International will hold its third annual fund-raiser Feb. 23 at JW Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd.

"A Tribute to Joe Williams" will feature the Cunninghams, Ruth Brown, the Jimmy Wilkins Quartet and other special guests.

The event will include a show, dinner and dance. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show set to begin at 6:30, followed by dinner and dancing.

The fund-raiser will benefit the children being mentored by the Committed 100 Men group.

Tickets are $75. For details, call Hortense Jones at 228-4693.

GUEST PERFORMERS

Master Singers plan concert at library

The Las Vegas Master Singers will perform "Music of the Appalachians" at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Clark County Library theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Special guests, the Yucca Mountain Boys, will round out the program with spirited renditions of traditional bluegrass tunes.

Tickets, available in advance or at the door, are $10 general admission and $8 for seniors, students, military and disabled.

Some of the numbers to be performed include "Down in the River to Pray," "Goin' to Boston" and "Sourwood Mountain."
