Out and About
Meeting guides preservation efforts The Nevada State Historic Preservation Office will have a public meeting to gather comments about the future of historic preservation in Nevada, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Nevada State Museum, 700 Twin Lakes Drive in Lorenzi Park. The meeting will be hosted by the Preservation Association of Clark County and Preserve Nevada. Both groups are nonprofit organizations promoting historic preservation. The public is invited to help set priorities for what historic and archaeological properties are most critical to be protected and saved; to suggest ways to better increase public awareness; and to discuss a number of other issues concerning the management of cultural resources in Nevada.
Participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will be made part of the office's eight-year plan for Nevada. The staff of the Carson City office will be present to discuss specific issues of concern in the greater Las Vegas community. For more information call Alice Baldrica, deputy director, Nevada State Historic Preservation Office, at (775) 684-3444.
