Mini Reviews
INKA SI SENOR 2797 S. Maryland Parkway; 731-0826 Overall: A- Category: Peruvian $$ Peruvian cuisine is not as familiar to most of us as, say, Mexican or Italian, but Inka Si Señor makes Peruvian food accessible -- and delicious. Worthy of mention: Conchitas a la Parmesana, Papa a la Huancaina, Pescado Sipan, Adobo de Chanco con Frijoles and Flan de Coco. TUSCANY GRILL 4350 E. Sunset Road, Henderson; 435-0036 Overall: A- Category: Italian $$ The red sauce at Tuscany Grill lacks a little something, but no matter; the kitchen has quite a way with creamy sauces. Particularly noteworthy were the scampi with heavy cream and the linguine al pesto; we also liked the artichoke hearts Francaise, and the chicken Parmesan was a worthy effort.
BUCCANEER BAY Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 793-7111 Overall: B Category: American $$$$ That Buccaneer Bay is quaint and cozy and the fact you can see a pirate battle every 90 minutes helps smooth the few rough spots when it comes to the food. Steak reigns supreme, as evidenced by the dry-aged bone-in shell steak, but we also liked the shrimp and crab shepherd's pie and a beef-mushroom soup du jour. --HEIDI KNAPP RINELLA
