Signings
Brian Skerry will sign and discuss "Lost Subs" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd.
Rush Fishel will sign her books which include "Change Almost Anything in 21 Days," "Hang in 'Til the Miracle Happens," and "Time for Joy," at 2 p.m. Saturday at B. Dalton Bookseller, 3680 S. Maryland Parkway; 1 p.m. Sunday at B. Dalton Bookseller, 1300 Sunset Road and at noon Tuesday at B. Dalton Bookseller, 4300 Meadows Lane.

The Poets' Corner, hosted by Keith Brantley and Pendelita Toney, will be held at 7 p.m. today at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
The Southern Nevada Fantasy and Fiction Union meets at 8 p.m. the second Friday of each month at Borders bookstore, 2323 S. Decatur Blvd. and at 8 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month at Borders bookstore, 1445 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.
The Las Vegas Valley Writers Group will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sean Patrick's Pub, 8255 W. Flamingo Road.
The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.
The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. Thursdays at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.
The West Las Vegas Book Club Social Hour is held at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
The Spanish Language Book Discussion Club meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month and the Oprah Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
The Rainbow Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.
The Great Books Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Flannery O'Connor's "Good Country People" will be discussed Tuesday. The Romance Book Discussion Group meets at 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
The Spring Valley Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd.
The Summerlin Library Book Chat Cafe meets at 10:30 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.
The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month, and the Murder in the Library club meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and 10 a.m. the following Wednesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.
The Booklovers' Bistro meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.
The Vegas Poets Society hosts open-mike events at 7 p.m. Fridays at Jitters Gourmet Coffee, 2457 E. Tropicana Ave.
The Friends of Southern Nevada Libraries is seeking donations of new or used books. Books may be donated to any library.
Several area bookstores offer story times and special events for children:
Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson, hosts a children's story time at 11 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays.
Borders bookstore, 2323 S. Decatur Blvd., hosts story time with Ann at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, hosts preschool story time at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays through Nov. 14.
Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for more information.
