Good food, good music, maybe at the same time
Does music make you hungry? Does good food make you want to rock? The sixth Bite of Las Vegas puts it all together for you.
The annual event presented by KMXB-FM 94.1 is a two-day festival that brings 40 local restaurants to the Sam Boyd Stadium practice field, complete with a main stage, a cooking stage, an "Underground Lounge" and a children's area.
Saturday's musical highlights include sets by national acts Seven and the Sun at 4 p.m., Duncan Sheik at 6 p.m. and Splender at 8 p.m.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult tickets are $10 and benefit Chefs for Kids.
A little pomp and swinging circumstance
With fall finally settling into Las Vegas, Clark County Parks & Community Services moves its last "Moonlight" concert of the year into a 3 p.m. berth on Saturday.
It's a double bill featuring the big band swing of the Las Vegas Brass Band, followed by the Nevada Chamber Symphony under the direction of Rudolfo Fernandez, offering light classics such as Bizet's "Carmen" overture.
The free concert is at the Clark County Government Center amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
