Deaths
Thomas Bell
Thomas G. Bell, 76, died Monday.
He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Los Angeles. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was an attorney, a 61-year resident of Henderson and Las Vegas, and a member of the Las Vegas Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" of Henderson; daughters, Jennifer of Las Vegas and Geneva of Los Angeles; and son, Tom; and brother, Lloyd, both of Las Vegas.
A wake will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hites Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Viator Catholic Church.
Lily Board
Lily Board, 98, died Wednesday.
She was born Nov. 14, 1904, in Manchester, England. A homemaker, she was a 14-year resident of Henderson.
She is survived by her sons, Harry of Henderson and Raymond of San Diego; daughter, Doreen Rounsfull; and brother, Rudolph, both of Las Vegas; and a granddaughter.
Cryptside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Bunkers Eden Vale Mausoleum. Bunkers Mortuary handled arrangements.
Lucille Crawford
Lucille McBride Crawford, 84, died Monday.
She was born July 31, 1918, in Kearney, Neb. An associate for the state of California, she was a resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her son, John of Las Vegas; sisters, Doris Maize of Spokane, Wash., Mary Smythe of Northridge, Calif., and Bonnie Georgis of Auburn, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday in California. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Leonard Downer
Leonard Lyle Downer, 77, died Sunday.
He was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Mount Morris, Mich. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a switchman for a railroad and a 16-year resident of Pahrump.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of Pahrump; sons, Michael of Michigan and Adam of San Diego; daughters, Janice Brady of Ohio and Vicky Baunchem of Michigan; brothers, Donald and Raymond; and sisters, Isabel McBean, Jean Vandendries, Shirley Sedlak, Irene Piper, Judy Smithengill and Mary Murphy, all of Michigan; and four grandchildren.
Services are private. Neptune Society of Nye County handled arrangements.
Robert Eads
Robert H. Eads, 77, died Tuesday.
He was born Nov. 19, 1925, in Washington, D.C. A magician, he was an eight-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the International Association of Magicians.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy of Pahrump; four children; brothers, Bill and Johnny, both of California; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are private. Neptune Society of Nye County handled arrangements.
George Earley
George D. Earley, 69, died March 24.
He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Michigan. A worker in the automotive industry, he was a resident of Las Vegas and a member of United Auto Workers Local 659.
He is survived by his wife, Wonnia; daughters, Wanda Lay and Wonnia; sons, George, James and LeMarquis; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at Harrison-Ross Mortuary with services at 1 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Yen Flores
Yen Thi Flores, 47, died Monday in a Las Vegas hospital.
She was born July 28, 1955, in Saigon, Vietnam. A change person for a hotel-casino, she was a 28-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Ben of Las Vegas; son, Frank of El Paso, Texas; and sisters, Hoa Nguyen and Mai Nguyen, both of Saigon, Hong Nguyen and Loana Kemp, both of Las Vegas, and Anh Szvoren of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary-Downtown, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Park-Downtown.
Rudy Foxgruber
Rudy Graham Foxgruber, 80, died March 24 in a Henderson hospital.
He was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a laborer in construction and an eight-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Las Vegas.
Services are private. American Burial & Cremation Services handled arrangements.
Rubin Garmon
Rubin M. Garmon, 79, died Monday.
He was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Kentucky. A carpenter he was a resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Garmon-Dejonge of Las Vegas.

Harvey Goodson
Harvey Franklin Goodson, 64, died March 25 in a local hospital.
He was born May 21, 1938, in Pensacola, Fla. An optician, he was a one-year resident of Beatty.
He is survived by his sons, Frank and Ernie; and daughters, Yvonne Wardwell and Marylee Grover, all of Beatty; and four grandchildren.

Norman Hage
Norman S. Hage, 82, died Monday.
He was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Bode, Iowa. The owner of a printing shop, he was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella of Henderson; daughter, LeeAnn Orozco of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and sister, Greta Brandhorst of Lakewood, Calif.

Pauline Hartwell
Pauline Hartwell, 70, died Sunday.
She was born April 3, 1932, in Louisiana and was a resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her daughters, Gilda and Diane; sons, Raymond Lamont, Jeff Taylor, Teddy, Jerry, Michael, Donald and Gregory; sister, Mattie Hamilton; and brother, Iley Campbell.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at Harrison-Ross Mortuary with services at 1 p.m. Saturday at True Love Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Christine Heim
Christine Heim, 95, died Monday.
She was born May 5, 1907, in Los Angeles. A homemaker, she was a 12-year resident of Henderson.
She is survived by her sons, Michael of Wrightwood, Calif., Ronald of Clearlake, Calif., Noel of Phoenix, Bernard of Henderson and John of Diamond Bar, Calif.; daughters, Jeannette Haggarty of Calipatria, Calif., JoAnne Davis of San Diego and Christine Hopple of Ontario, Calif.; 38 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be in California. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Robert Hulbert
Robert "Bob" Hulbert, 73, died Tuesday in a North Las Vegas hospital.
He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired keno writer in gaming and a 33-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his sons, Robert and Bill, both of Las Vegas; sister, Janise Reddiski of Wisconsin; brother, James of Sheboygen; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary-Eastern, where services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. The family requests memorial donations be made to Odyssey Hospice.
Valerie Jones
Valerie Jones, 42, died March 27.
She was born Nov. 2, 1960, in Nevada and was a resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her sons, Reggie Banks and Brandon; sisters, Kathryn Galtney, Beverly Stewart and Terri; and brothers, Herbert Jr., Glen and Todd.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at Harrison-Ross Mortuary, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial is private.
Sabrina Jourdan
Sabrina Jourdan, 63, died Saturday.
She was born Jan. 28, 1940, in Chicago. A real estate investor, she was a 40-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her daughter, Sky Rose of Boston; son, Michael Rose; mother, Helen Stevenson; and sisters, Christine Brunet and Dianna Stevenson, all of Las Vegas; and brothers, Michael Stevenson of Las Vegas, Bill Stevenson of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Alan Stevenson of Lancaster, Calif.

Jerry Lyon
Jerry W. Lyon, 68, died Tuesday.
He was born Feb. 4, 1935. A retired sheet-metal worker, he was a three-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Jerry Jr. of Glenrock, Wyo., Jeffery of Pahrump and Brian of San Martin, Calif.; daughter, Carla Tuma of Palm Coast, Fla.; brothers, David and Harvey, both of Louisiana; and six grandchildren.

Toula Mavrantonis
Toula Mavrantonis, 80, died Tuesday.
She was born June 22, 1922, in Greece. A homemaker, she was a 39-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her sons, Stacy and Michael; daughter, Kiki; and brother, Chris Patsis, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Georgia Xeros and Niki Nasiotis, both of Greece; and a grandchild.
A trisagion service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Madonna McCarthy
Madonna Doss McCarthy, 90, died Tuesday at home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Palisade, Colo. A retired bookkeeper, she was a 33-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Genealogy Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Tuft of Las Vegas; son, Michael of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Neil McLean
Neil M. McLean, 56, died Saturday at Nathan Adelson Hospice.
He was born May 3, 1946, in Mankato, Minn. A maintenance director, he was a seven-year resident of Las Vegas and past president of the Key City Bald Eagles Flying Club.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Las Vegas; sons, Patrick and Alan; and daughters, Shelly and Dawn, all of Minnesota; stepdaughters, Kari Plautz of Wisconsin and Sherri Peroutka of Las Vegas; stepsons, Jeff Holme of Las Vegas and Kenneth Peroutka of Wisconsin; sister, Sherri Schearer of Florida; and three stepgrandchildren.

Amedeo Joseph Mele, 77, died Tuesday.
He was born April 27, 1925, in New York. A job analyst, he was a resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Anne of Las Vegas; and son, Steve of California.

Peggy Mullen
Peggy Elizabeth Marie Mullen, 55, died Monday in a local hospital.
She was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Indiana. A dispatcher for an alarm company, she was a former resident of Reno and an eight-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of Las Vegas; daughters, Mary Boucher of Albuquerque, N.M., Denise Avila of San Jose, Calif., Samantha McWhorter of Reno, Jamie Nyblom of Sun Valley, and Tarana Barnes and Shannon, both of Las Vegas; sons, Richard Barnes of Las Vegas, Bill Avila of San Jose and Sam Boucher of Albuquerque; brother, Edward Fryer of Florida; and 18 grandchildren.

Michael R. Philip, 76, died Tuesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Indiana. An Air Force veteran, he was a retired bee keeper, a 56-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Master Bee Keepers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Libby; sons, Frank Grasa and Joaquin; and three grandchildren.

Erica Rutherford
Erica L. Rutherford, 27, died Monday in Lawrenceville, Ga.
She was born Feb. 11, 1976, in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a former 12-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her mother, Carol of Lawrenceville; father and stepmother, Paul and Susie, both of Henderson; brothers, Ryan of Las Vegas and Tyler of Henderson; stepbrother, Shawn Riley of Henderson; and grandmother, Rita McConnell of Lawrenceville.

Robert Gary Sullivan, 64, died Monday.
He was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. An Army veteran, he was a retired pediatrician, a three-year resident of Boulder City and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Boulder City; sons, Jess of New Iberia, La., and Scott of Irvine, Calif.; daughters, Anna Hatch of Pasadena, Calif.; brother, Lewis of Greeley, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

James Turney
James O. Turney, 80, died Tuesday in a local care center.
He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Savanna, Ill. A Marine Corps veteran who served during World War II, he was a retired cooler foreman for an ice cream company, a member of the Moose Lodge and a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda of Las Vegas; son, Patrick of Algonguin, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Elizabeth R. Vallone, 75, died Tuesday in a Las Vegas hospital.
She was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Washington. An assistant comptroller for a university, she was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis London of Bay Point, Calif., Gary London and Craig London, both of Claremont, Calif., and James of San Dimas, Calif.; daughter, Judy Blake of Dotham, Ala.; brother, Nate London of Seattle; sister, Marilyn Ross of San Francisco; and three grandchildren.

He was born May 2, 1943, in New York. A Navy veteran, he was the owner of a tatoo parlor and a resident of Las Vegas.

He was born July 15, 1927, in Dearborn, Mich. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired accountant for the federal government and a 10-year resident of Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Aud of Henderson; daughters, Judith Parker of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Susan Gabriel of Henderson; brother, Charles of Frostproof, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
