6-year-old girl drowns in pool
Correction on 08/22/03 -- A story in Sundayıs Review-Journal misidentified the location where a girl drowned Aug. 16. Six-year-old Sophie Richards drowned in the swimming pool at Flamingo Las Vegas.

A 6-year-old girl drowned Friday evening in the swimming pool at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club near the Strip, authorities said.
Just after 7 p.m., a lifeguard pulled Sophie Richards from the bottom of the pool at the time-share property east of the Flamingo Las Vegas.
The girl had been left unattended by her mother for just a moment, Clark County Fire Department spokesman Scott Allison said.
Richards was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
