SUPPORT GROUPS
An HIV Therapeutic Group for people infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Community Counseling Center, 1120 Almond Tree Lane (369-8700).
Nevada Children's Center offers free weekly support groups to parents who have or who are in the process of adopting children. The group meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at the center, 2929 S. Decatur Blvd. (221-4900).
The Leukemia and Lymphoma and Other Blood-Related Diseases Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the main cafeteria at Summerlin Hospital, 657 Town Center Drive (436-4220).
Cancer Connection Support Group, sponsored by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at 2650 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 208, and Thursdays at 3730 S. Eastern Ave. The Hispanic Breast Cancer Support Group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 10 a.m. at 3730 S. Eastern Ave. (952-3400).
Introduction to Al-Anon for Newcomers meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays followed by Al-Anon We Are Not Alone at 7 p.m. at Henderson Chevrolet, 240 N. Gibson Road (436-0825).
A Widowed Support Group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive, Room 6 (735-5544).
Montevista Hospital offers a parents' support group, Sharing Our Strength, at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6000 W. Rochelle Ave. (219-8925 or 595-6493).
The HIV/Hepatitis C Co-infection Support Group meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays at 3233 W. Charleston Blvd. (384-9104 or 471-6360).
Community Action Against Rape offers Circle of Friends, a support group for survivors of sexual assault, at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays. A support group for Family or Friends of Sexual Assault Survivors meets at 7:15 p.m. Thursdays. Both meetings are at 741 Veterans Memorial Drive (385-2153).
Griefshare, a grief and loss program, is at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road. There are separate programs for children, teens and adults. Growing Seasons, a grief and loss program for children dealing with divorce and death, meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the church (648-1234).
