REVIEW: Original local sketch comedy 'Gossip' more fun than evil

By ALLYSON HERRING
REVIEW-JOURNAL

Gossip can be perceived as the root of all evil or delicious fun.

Fortunately, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's production of "Gossip" proved to be the latter of the two.

The high-spirited cast performed skits, musical numbers and won over a near-capacity crowd with their comedic talents.

The free program was part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's celebration of cultural diversity and Black History Month.

The production is an original work written by performer Gwendolyn Baccus.

The skits, covering topics ranging from cell phone etiquette to beauty shop gossip, kept the production flowing. There never was a break in the continuity of the production.

Many of the musical numbers, composed by another featured performer/musician, Mary Ashcraft, were lighthearted and humorous.

The ensemble cast included Baccus, Ashcraft, Rochelle Clark, Ms. China, Ashley Barry, McGhee, Rosa McNair and Issac Moore.
