University slates paralegal open house
The division of educational outreach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will hold an open house for its paralegal certificate program 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Jan. 8 in room 120 of its Paradise Road campus, at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street across from the Thomas & Mack Center.
The open house is free and open to the public.
The division will also offer its notary public and electronic signature training program from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26 and Feb. 27, also at the Paradise Road campus.
James Edwards will teach the course, which costs $299.

The State Bar of Nevada's board of governors named attorneys Keith Loomis and Marianne Gatti and lay member Jack Hegedius Sr. to Las Vegas Panel C and lay member James Wilkerson Sr. to Las Vegas Panel A of the fee dispute arbitration committee; Scott Wasserman and Magistrate Judge Robert Johnston to the publications committee and Howard Miller chairman of the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board.
The board of governors also named alternate attorney member Conrad Claus and lay member Alan Tishk to its southern board; and alternate attorneys Claus, Lauren Diefenbach, Edward Hanign, and Bernard Zadrowski to the southern board's primary attorney panel.
The bar's board of governors also reappointed Sallie Armstrong, Phillip Bartlett, Gordon DePaoli, George Foley Jr., Gregory Kamer, and Bruce Shapiro to the standing committee on judicial ethics and election practices; Karl Armstrong to the judicial discipline commission; C. Stanley Hunterton, Richard Holley, Matthew Addison, Cecelia Rosenauer, and J. Thomas Susich to the district representatives to the Ninth Circuit; and William Brad Bennett to the Fee Dispute Arbitration Committee.

Cannery Casino Resorts named Michelle Pro human resources director for the Cannery. She'll also maintain her job as human resources director for the Rampart Casino at the Resort at Summerlin.

Delta Research Computer Services, 6515 Villa Del Sol Court, has acquired a Soft-temps franchise for Southern Nevada. The acquisition will let the company offer software consulting and training for small and midsized businesses along with its other services.
Melvin McQueen is the franchisee.
