NBC to televise
Juarez-Archuleta
Flamingo fight

Unbeaten featherweight Ricardo "Rocky" Juarez of Houston will fight Frank Archuleta of Las Vegas, N.M., at the Flamingo on May 3 in the first professional boxing to be televised on NBC since 1992.
Juarez, a silver medalist for the United States in the 2000 Olympics, is 15-0 and Archuleta is 22-3-1.
The Main Events-promoted card, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., is the same day as the Oscar De La Hoya-Yori Boy Campas card at Mandalay Bay, promoted by Top Rank.
The Juarez-Archuleta card will include a live fight on the Telemundo Spanish-language cable network at 11:30 a.m., followed by the main event on NBC at 12:30 p.m.
Junior lightweight Darling Jiminez (14-0-2), a native of the Dominican Republic living in New York, will fight in the semimain event against an opponent to be determined.
NBC plans to air fight cards on three straight Saturdays.
On May 10, the network will show the lightweight bout between Juan Diaz (20-0) of Houston and Eleazar Contreras (19-2-2) of Bakersfield, Calif., in Temecula, Calif.
On May 17, NBC will air a junior lightweight fight between Nate Campbell (23-1) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Edelmiro "Tiger" Martinez (20-2-1) of New York at Atlantic City.
