Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez went ga-ga over some classic hot wheels during a side trip to Henderson.
With J.Lo's mom, Guadalupe, accompanying them, Ben and Jen took a Palms limo on Monday to the new Hot Rod Hill Plaza in Henderson to check out some "muscle" cars.
Tom Calabrese, owner of the GR8AUTO Classic Car Showroom, said a giddy J.Lo climbed behind the wheel of "Eleanor," a souped-up 1967 Mustang made famous in "Gone in 60 Seconds," co-starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. The price tag: $225,000.
"Ben's in that figuring-out-what-I-want-stage," said Calabrese. "She fell in love with a purple 1961 Corvette street rod with custom everything." That rig sells for $45,000.
Affleck was torn between a custom 1951 Cadillac and a 1970 Chevy Nova 396. "He wants to buy some muscle cars," said Calabrese, referring to the high-horsepower automobiles of the 1960s and 1970s.
Calabrese said he had to lock the doors to the showroom because a crowd of about 30 people gathered outside the windows. At one point, Affleck engaged a man who appeared to have a camera phone.
"They were very pleasant, very polite; no air about them at all," he said.
'Las Vegas' climbing
One month into TV's new season, NBC is peacock-proud of its new primetime drama "Las Vegas."
The casino surveillance show is already the season's top-rated drama in all key adult demos and scoring the highest numbers since premiere week. It ranks third for the hour in adults 18-49 (4.6 rating and 11 share) and second at 18-34 (3.8 rating and 10 share).
One of the show's hotties, Molly Sims, is on the cover of Cosmopolitan's November issue. She admits that her bedroom scene with co-star Josh Duhamel was nerve-wracking but "we were laughing the whole time."
Her first feature film, a "Starsky and Hutch" prequel, comes out in March. She plays the wife of Vince Vaughn's villainous character, a bad-guy who has issues with Starsky (Ben Stiller) and Hutch (Owen Wilson). Vaughn originally was cast as Hutch.
Sims is among the presenters confirmed for Monday's Radio Music Awards show at the Aladdin being televised live on NBC to most of the country. Michael Jackson is also among the presenters.
The Scene and Heard
Siegfried Fischbacher told a Hamburg, Germany, awards show audience on Wednesday, "The Siegfried who you see before you here will soon return again as Siegfried & Roy." He and Roy Horn had planned to be there together to receive the World Entertainment Award for their outstanding contributions to society. Horn, who was attacked onstage by a white tiger Oct. 3, remains in critical condition at University Medical Center. ...
"Spirit of the Dance" will go on a three-month hiatus, starting Dec. 1, the Golden Nugget announced Thursday.

The Punch Line
"It's a little-known fact that Florida got its name from the Okefenokee Indians. It means 'place where old people go to sweat.' " -- Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberg) in "Cheers."
