local artists' work
Artwork by the late artist Ronald Terry Amie will be exhibited at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd., from Saturday through Oct. 30.
The public is invited to free receptions from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Amie, who was born in Las Vegas in 1953, combined the dark environments of Rembrandt with the bright colors of 1970s pop art. The Clark High School graduate and alumnus of the University of California, Los Angeles' School of Graphic Design worked in several media, including pencil, ink, water, oils, airbrush and computer graphics. Amie died in September 2002.
The exhibit is presented by the Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services. For more information, call 229-4800.
