VALLEY ACTIVISTS: Leading the call

From varied backgrounds, government critics formulate methods to take on establishment

Anti-tax activists Dan Burdish and George Harris and government watchdog Knight Allen have received a great deal of ink since the start of the 2003 session of the Nevada Legislature.

Burdish and Harris have been among the most vocal critics of the $833 million tax increase that was adopted by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Kenny Guinn. Allen has led the push to prevent public employees from serving in the Legislature.
