FUND-RAISER
Fraternity sets annual banquet
The Fraternity of the Desert Bighorn will have its annual fund-raising banquet at 5:30 p.m. July 31 at the Stardust Hotel, 3000 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
The fraternity, working with the Nevada Department of Wildlife and other governmental agencies, has constructed more than 100 water development projects for desert bighorn sheep and other wildlife species. Water development projects, also known as guzzlers, are artificial water sources placed in remote mountain ranges of Southern Nevada.
New water development projects and other wildlife conservation and habitat restoration projects are scheduled for next spring. In addition to construction of new guzzlers, the fraternity continues to renovate and update existing projects by adding new water storage tanks and improved water collection devices.
The fraternity is dedicated to the welfare and conservation of the desert bighorn sheep.
