NORM: Hard Rock's latest spin: Body English

Joey Fatone's bachelor bash breaks in Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Celine Dion to fans: "Things happen."

Tiger Woods gets up for Jam at Tabu.

Freebies galore from George Wallace.

Body English sent a lot of sexy signals at Thursday's sneak preview.

Formerly known as Baby's, the Hard Rock Hotel's renovated nightclub rocked under a $250,000 Baccarat chandelier with a twist: a revolving disco ball.

Members of 'N Sync joined Joey Fatone at his bachelor party in "The parlor," a hidden VIP room with a two-way mirrored wall that allowed guests to watch the dance floor action.

"It's Light meets Drai's -- very cool," night crawler Michael Lane said. Female bartenders and servers help set the mood with black lingerie outfits.

"We wanted it to resemble a 1960s British rock star's mansion," Hard Rock exec Harry Morton said. "There's a big move to get ultra-modern. We wanted a throwback."

The official christening will occur during the grand opening weekend June 11, featuring a special musical guest and Maxim magazine's "Hot 100" party.

Body English is open Friday through Sunday from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Bon Voyage

High fives to the Class of 2004 at Las Vegas College.

As the commencement speaker Thursday at the Tuscany Inn, I saw plenty of bright hope on the faces of the 120-plus graduates.

Among them: Robert Patron, the former unemployed plumber; 4.0 honor student Rochelle Del Carmen, who made a statement as bold as her future by wearing yellow combat boots to the ceremony; and Beatriz Valle, the Cuban emigrant who wept tears of joy, proud beyond words of what she had overcome: years of poverty and a learning disability to become the first member of her family to gain a college degree.

Just as inspiring was the school's former janitor, who was honored Thursday as one of LVC's most influential teachers. My hat is off to attorney Michael Rowe, who teaches paralegal classes.

The Scene and Heard

Local drummer Phil Leo must be nearing some kind of record. Wednesday was his 500th consecutive day of work, all as a member of the band that backs the Sahara's oldies show of the Platters, Coasters and Drifters in the Conga Showroom. "I love playing the drums, and I never turn down work," said Leo, 43, who moved here in 1981 from Niagara Falls, N.Y. ...

Celine Dion returned to "A New Day ..." on Wednesday after being sidelined two weeks with a sprained neck. She told the audience: "I know I don't have to talk to you about the last two weeks, but things happen and sometimes we get injured." ...

Tiger Woods will have a lot of company on the red carpet tonight at "Tiger Jam VII" (Mandalay Bay). He's scheduled to be joined by Prince, Ray Romano, Kevin James, Jessica Alba, Marshall Faulk, Vanessa Marcil, Jerry O'Connell, star chef Charlie Palmer and others.

Sightings

Pete Sampras and his wife, Bridgette, stopping at Trattoria de Lupo in Mandalay Bay on Friday. ... Former "E! Wild On" host Brooke Burke, with her little ones at Lance Burton (Monte Carlo) on Thursday. ... Golfer Woods at Tabu (MGM Grand) on Thursday. ... Former NFL great Marcus Allen, ordering a quesadilla for lunch Thursday at Spago (Forum Shops at Caesars). ... George Wallace, while leaving Clint Holmes' show at Harrah's on Thursday, inviting everyone to his 10 p.m. show at the Flamingo, saying he'd honor all their ticket stubs.
