Supermodel Gisele Bundchen isn't shy about who should win the upcoming best-actor Oscar.

Boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio's portrayal of Howard Hughes in "The Aviator" is the best performance of his career, she said Thursday.

"If they don't give him an Oscar, they've got something against him because he really did an amazing job," the Brazilian stunner said during a red-carpet appearance at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Bundchen, Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio were in town for stops at the Hard Rock, Bellagio's dancing fountains and the Palms, part of the Victoria's Secret Angels Across America tour.

For Banks, the visit brought flashbacks of her pre-teen trips to Las Vegas.

"I grew up in Los Angeles, and my parents would take us to Circus-Circus and we would run loose for three days."

The Scene and Heard

KVBC-TV, Channel 3 weekend anchor Kim Capozzo will be off the air for about three weeks after receiving a facial cut last Friday during an I-15 auto crash. Her husband, KVBC evening weatherman Dana Wagner, was uninjured. Their car rammed head-on into a concrete divider at 50-plus mph while Wagner was attempting to move from U.S. 95 to south-bound I-15 near the Washington Street ramp. "A guy in a truck wouldn't let me move over, and I ran out of room," Wagner said. Capozzo's airbag caused a one-inch cut over her right eye, requiring plastic surgery. ...

Big Mama's Rib Shack, 2230 W. Bonanza, has such a following that celebrities such as Chuck Berry and Shaquille O'Neal have shown up in taxis for their barbecue fix. Shaq even pitched in during rush hour, answering the telephone. Owner Dargin McWhorter has been delighting customers with his mama's Southern cooking in Las Vegas and Pasadena since the early 1990s. Recommendations: ribs, jambalaya, gumbo, yams and The Killer barbecue pork sandwich "that melts in your mouth. Don't needs teeth to eat it," said McWhorter, 68. Drive-through and delivery. Save room for sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and the banana pudding. For more information: 597-1616.
