Cheney plans visit to Las Vegas after convention
REVIEW-JOURNAL
Just as the Republican National Convention is winding down, campaigning in battleground states by presidential candidates is moving full speed ahead.
Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to visit Las Vegas on Friday afternoon.
He will be at the Cashman Center for an event dubbed the RNC Victory '04 rally.
Details regarding his activities and who would be allowed to attend the rally were unavailable Tuesday.
Cheney made a campaign stop in the rural Northern Nevada town of Elko in August. He was in Reno in July, when he spoke to the National Convention of Disabled American Veterans.
Prior to that, he visited Henderson in June to deliver a speech focused on the nation's economy. He said he chose the Las Vegas Valley because of its vibrant economy, describing it as "one of the most confident, optimistic places in America."
Cheney's visit later this week comes on the heels of a visit to Las Vegas by Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards.
Elizabeth Edwards addressed a group of military families on Tuesday in a town hall meeting intended to target undecided voters.
