PHOTO: Time-Honored Contest

Las Vegas City Councilman Gary Reese has Mayor Oscar Goodman at his mercy Wednesday while delivering a clean shave to kick off the Whiskerino Contest, a time-honored tradition of Helldorado Days. Goodman now has until 6 p.m. May 12 to grow a beard for the contest. The event, part of a four-day salute to Helldorado Days, will take place at the Fremont Street Experience. To join in the contest, which will include several categories, registration forms must be submitted to Las Vegas Helldorado Days/Whiskerino office, 420 S.
