Economic impact of companies in Henderson put at $163.3 million in '04

New and expanding companies in Henderson generated an economic impact of $163.3 million in 2004, the city's economic development manager said.
There were 20 new companies that moved to Henderson last year and 10 businesses that expanded, Henderson Economic Development Manager Bob Cooper said Wednesday at a banquet to honor the companies at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas.
Overall, the companies added 1,205 new employees to the work force and occupied about 780,000 square feet of commercial space, Cooper said.
Companies that moved to Henderson in 2004 were: Altima Designs; APA Marketing; APSM Systems; Arroweye Solutions; Computer-show.com; Dolisos America; FutureLogic; International Academy of Design and Technology; Machine Tools Direct; Medical Education and Research Institute of Nevada; National University; Odds On Recording Studios; Perfection Services West; Scott Drake Enterprises; Specialty Vehicles; Southwest Steel; Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine; Toyota Financial Savings Bank; Unique Communications; and Unit Chemical Corp.
Existing businesses that expanded their operations were: Compliance Science; Credit Acceptance Corp.; First American Title Co. of Nevada; Ford Credit Co.; JMA Architecture Studios; Old Republic Title Co. of Nevada; Southwest Medical Associates; Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging; Yellowpages.com; and WRG Design.
Developers that brought 725,000 square feet of office and industrial space to Henderson were: American Nevada Co.; Conde Del Mar Properties; Magnum Opus Corp.; Pecos Horizon; Pelican Development Corp.; Sansone Development; and Yamagata Enterprises.
Over the last six years, the Henderson Economic Development Division has helped recruit 102 companies, creating more than 6,500 jobs, occupying nearly 4 million square feet of space and resulting in an estimated economic impact of $478 million.
