Jaynes Corp. is building the new 30,000-square-foot Mirabelli Community Center for the city of Las Vegas at 6200 Elton Ave., near U.S. Highway 95 and Jones Boulevard.
Construction of the $6.8 million project began in January and is running ahead of its 12-month completion schedule, said Steve Brooke, Jaynes' vice president of Nevada.

The new community center will have a gymnasium with basketball courts, dance studio, kitchen class and arts and crafts room, along with a shaded playground area.
Artifacts from the old Mirabelli Center such as decorative tiles and plaques will be incorporated into the new design. Dekker Perich Holmes Sabatini is the architect.
Mark Makinson, project superintendent for Jaynes, said 80 percent of the electrical and plumbing work is finished and crews are hanging interior drywall this week. The building is being constructed with six-inch metal studs, bar joists and metal decking.
The second phase of the project calls for demolition of the old building in September and paving of a new parking lot. Carlos Montenegro is project engineer.
VIAGGIO DONE: SR Construction has completed the 2,425-square-foot buildout of the lower level for Viaggio Italian Cuisine and Wine Shop at 11261 S. Eastern Ave. Estimated project costs were $558,000. Joseph Garcia of SR served as project manager.
SLOW PERIOD: Ken Simonson, chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America, said nonresidential construction appears to be in a holding pattern based on Census Bureau figures for construction put in place in May, showing a gradual decline over the three months since February, particularly for private residential building.
Simonson pointed out the Census had boosted its preliminary estimate of construction for 2004 from $1 trillion to nearly $1.03 trillion and the seasonally adjusted annual rate for April 2005, reported last month as $1.07 trillion to $1.11 trillion. That suggests that the monthly figures for recent months may also be substantially revised in the future, he said.
OFFICE COMPLEX: Matt Construction started working in May on a 30,000-square-foot office and warehouse complex being developed by Aero SRD on Aerojet Way in North Las Vegas. Designed by YWS Architects of Las Vegas, the tilt-up concrete construction incorporates a 10,000-square-foot mezzanine level. Completion is expected in November.
INDUSTRIAL DEALS: Jeremy Green and Geoff West of CB Richard Ellis represented Z-Partnership in the sale of 12,100 square feet of industrial space at 441 and 451 Mark Leany Drive in Henderson to Marshall Lee for $1.3 million.
Derek Rafie and Karolina Janik of CB represented Terroir in the purchase of five acres of industrial land at Durango Drive and Patrick Lane from Blue Waters Family for $2.75 million.
