NEON WEDNESDAY: Open turntables at Beauty Bar

Las Vegas ladies looking for a midweek pick-me-up should look no further than Beauty Bar, downtown's salon-turned-watering hole.

"Hot Wax Wednesdays starring the Beauty School Dropouts" features DJs Amy Veins, MataHari, Angee and girl-about-town Poizen Ivy spinning underground music dating back to the '60s.

This female-centric affair offers an open turntable to any woman interested in sharing her mix with the girls, as well as a $4 signature cocktail concocted by bartender Korby.

Music starts at 10 p.m. at 517 Fremont St., between Las Vegas Boulevard and Sixth Street. There is no cover charge.
