On May 19 -- as part of its Third Thursday event -- Dust Gallery presented "Fashion," an exhibit of the works of artist Alonso Mateo, in conjunction with a spring fashion show connecting art and fashion. The exhibit features portraits of well-known designers and comments on the American obsession with fashion, money, power and prestige. "Fashion" continues through June 19 at Dust Gallery, 1221 S. Main St., 880-3878.
The Dior boutique at Wynn Esplanade also sponsored a May benefit to raise money for the Las Vegas Performing Arts Center Foundation. Dior President Marla Sabo and Elaine Wynn hosted the event.
