Special television program Thursday features Red Flag

The Military Channel will feature a one-hour special program Thursday that documents the rigors fighter pilots endure during a aerial combat training exercise at Nellis Air Force Range.
"Red Flag: Thunder at Nellis" focuses on the intensity of training rookie pilots, a regimen that veteran pilots attest is often more challenging than actual combat.
As detachment commander Lt. Col. Brian Kirkwood states in the film: "Learning here at Red Flag is probably like trying to take a drink from a fire hose."
The documentary premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday on Cox Communications Channel 105 and on DirecTV and Dish Network.
The documentary opens with scenes of Las Vegas.
