Centennial art exhibit opens Tuesday

"Keepers of the Flame," a centennial exhibit curated by Left of Center Gallery owner Vicki Richardson, opens Tuesday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

A selection of artwork by Richardson, Dayo Adelaja, Sylvester Collier, Adolfo Gonzalez and William Pajaud depicts the ranchers, immigrants, laborers, showgirls, builders and dreamers who played a significant role in the success of the city.

A free reception with the artists will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 3. Call 229-4800 for details.

The exhibit has been traveling throughout the Las Vegas Valley during 2005.

Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
