County, church to hold community adoption festival
REVIEW-JOURNAL
Clark County and the First African Methodist Episcopal Church will hold a community adoption festival Saturday to introduce would-be parents to children who need a family.
About 2,000 county children are in foster care, about 800 of whom have the goal of adoption. Most eligible for adoption through the county, which cares for abused, neglected and abandoned children, need special care and are black.
The event will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, 2450 Revere St., North Las Vegas.
More than 14 adoption agencies will be present to offer information and answer question. The festivities will include pony rides and a jump house for children, and family entertainment, food, drinks and ice cream.
For information about the event or about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, call Gerald Robinson at 455-4024.
