The Class 1A, 2A and 3A football championships are scheduled for a tripleheader Nov. 19. The Class 4A football final will be Dec. 3.

j GOOD TO BE A WILDCAT -- There's something about being a Las Vegas High running back. Senior Jamal Lomax became the area's first 4A player to top the 1,000-yard mark, with 201 yards against Eldorado last week giving him 1,006 yards through five games. Lomax has topped 100 yards in all five games and has four games of 200 or more yards.
Last year, Eric Jordan led the area with 2,772 yards as a junior at Las Vegas, including five 200-yard games. But Jordan has found things tougher this year after transferring to Shadow Ridge.
Jordan topped 100 yards in the first two games to give him 25 consecutive games with 100 or more yards on the ground. But he's had a total of 164 yards in the last three games and trails Lomax by almost 500 yards with 526 for the season.
