Campers also will enjoy traditional activities such as hiking, campfires, skits, and games.

A $100 deposit will hold a camp space. Cost for each camp is $350 per person. The balance for all camps is due June 2.

Campers are required to submit a camp physical exam form and current immunization record prior to attending camp.

The On the Edge Camp will run June 25-30 for ages 13-15. This camp features outdoor recreation activities such as a ropes challenge course, games, crafts, mountain biking, hiking and a one-night campout under the stars.

The Arts Camp will be offered July 9-14 for ages 8-12. Children will receive professional instruction in visual art, drama, music and creative movement. A family presentation is planned.

Omni Science Camp will run July 16-21 for ages 8-12. This science camp offers interactive sessions in subjects such as amusement park physics, meteorology (weather), entomology (insects), herpetology (reptiles) and chemistry.

Camp Bristlecone will take place Aug. 6-11 for ages 21 and older. It is an innovative six-day, five-night resident camp program designed for adults with developmental disabilities. This camp provides structured group activities such as sports, arts and crafts, dance, rope challenge course, games, hiking, sing-alongs and campfires. Campers must be ambulatory, and be able to manage their own personal care.

During all programs campers stay in group cabins supervised by trained counselors. Other in-residence staff members include instructors, a registered nurse, a camp director and a camp manager.

Professional caterers provide meals.

All meals, a daily snack, class supplies and a camp T-shirt are included in the camp fee.

Parents or guardians are responsible for campers' transportation to and from camp. All camps begin on Sunday and end Friday evening.

Walk-in registration is being accepted at the Sunset Park Administration Building, 2601 E. Sunset Road; Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road; and Hollywood Recreation Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

For more information, call Clark County Parks and Recreation at 455-8824.

Camp Lee Canyon is in the Spring Mountain Range, 45 miles from Las Vegas.
