MEDICARE EDUCATION

My Medicare Matters, a comprehensive education program of the National Council on the Aging to help people with Medicare and their families understand the new Medicare Prescription Drug coverage, will have programs from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at H2U at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, 4101 S. Maryland Parkway, No. 100 (735-5510); from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road (933-7340); and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. (229-1515).

FREE IMMUNIZATIONS

The Clark County Fire Department and Clinic on Wheels are giving free childhood immunizations including hepatitis A, hepatitis B, DPT, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), polio and varicela from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Station 23, at Alexander and Lamb. Families must bring their shot records (455-7338).

BRIDGE CLUB

The Spring Mountain Bridge Club, 450 S. Buffalo Drive, No. 104, offers beginner lessons and novice games at 6 p.m. Mondays and 12:30 p.m. Thursdays. It also meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for American Contract Bridge League stratified sanctioned games (278-8614 or 364-9960).

TRAVEL CLUB

The Las Vegas Singles Travel Club, a group that plans local and world travels, meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Tap House, 5589 W. Charleston Blvd. (888-324-2028).

PINOCHLE

The nonsmoking Double Deck Pinochle Group meets at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays (274-6387).

TOASTMASTERS

The Republican Toastmasters of Nevada club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at Nevada State GOP Headquarters, 8625 W. Sahara Ave. (203-2022).

GENEALOGY

The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society will meet for a three-part series on beginning genealogy at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson (492-6593).

FUNDRAISER

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will present its 41st annual Spring Luncheon and "Nearly New" Fashion Show, "The Way We Were," at 10 a.m. May 1 in the Avalon Ballroom at the Stardust, 3000 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Reservations must be made by Wednesday (327-3944).

WOMEN'S GROUP

Brandeis University National Women's Committee sponsors various events throughout the month (804-8121).

CANCER SCREENINGS

St. Rose Dominican Hospital offers free breast cancer screenings and services to uninsured and underinsured women ages 40 and younger (616-7525).

Mammovan for Nevada offers free mammograms to low-income women age 40 and older in the Las Vegas area. Appointments are necessary (877-581-6266).
