Chung won the individual title in a one-hole playoff. On the par-5 first hole, she nearly chipped in for eagle -- with the ball spinning around the lip of the cup -- before tapping in for birdie and the victory.
Chung, tied for fourth entering the final round, shot 1-over 73 to force the playoff with New Mexico's Mikaela Backstedt (77) and Py Bengtsson (74). They finished at 6-over 222.
The Rebels' top four players finished in the top 10, with Elena Kurokawa (76) tying for fifth at 225, and Seema Sadekar (76) and Grace Woo (76) tying for seventh at 226. Young Pak, who opened with a 72 to tie for the lead, shot 81 and tied for 23rd.
The victory gave UNLV an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Regional pairings will be announced Monday.
Chung was named MWC Player of the Year and co-Freshman of the Year, and UNLV coach Missy Ringler was named Coach of the Year.
Kurokawa, Sadekar and Woo joined Chung on the all-MWC team.
