Authorities have identified the 7-month-old boy who suffered fatal injuries in foster care Friday, but the child has no legal name, prompting officials to dub him "Baby Boy Charles."
Assistant Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said his office received the name from University Medical Center, where the boy died about 1:30 p.m.

Fudenberg said the biological mother's last name is Charles. The woman has been notified of the boy's death, he said.
Capt. Terry Lesney of the Metropolitan Police Department said the boy never was given a legal name but wouldn't elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the boy's past.
The coroner's office has not determined the manner and cause of death. But the coroner's office did say the boy's family has been notified of his death.
The child was injured on Wednesday at his foster parents' house in the 2700 block of Dune Cove Road, near Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road, police said.
Lesney said the boy had suffered head injuries but wouldn't be more specific.
No one has been charged in the case, and police were not investigating the incident as a homicide, she said.
The foster parents have two other children, who were removed from the home last week and remain in protective custody, Lesney said.
County spokeswoman Gina Olivares said Tom Morton, director of county Family Services, couldn't comment on the incident Monday because state law prohibits him from doing so.
Morton on Friday issued a statement on the incident that offered few details.
