Name a star or guest star of the numerous "Star Trek" series, and he or she probably will be on hand for this weekend's fifth annual "Star Trek" Las Vegas Convention at the Las Vegas Hilton. They won't be alone as organizers say more than 15,000 fans are expected to attend

All the big names are scheduled to be there, including Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.

Nimoy -- Spock on the original "Star Trek" series -- will present a one-man show of his photography, "See What I See," at 4:40 p.m. Saturday. Earlier that day, at 1 p.m., Nimoy will appear alone. Shatner will follow 20 minutes later, with the two appearing together at 1:40 p.m.

Nimoy will show 20 to 30 of his art photographs and give an overview of his work and a survey "of what I've done recently," he said in a recent phone interview from his home in Lake Tahoe.

"For the past 10 years, photography has been my creative outlet," Nimoy said. "It's been very rewarding."

His photos have been shown at numerous galleries around the country, and he has an upcoming show starting Sept. 7 at the Richard Shapiro Gallery in Los Angeles.

The slide show will include some of his nude shots. Anyone offended by nudity "can always close their eyes," Nimoy said. "It's OK with me."

But Nimoy is more than a weekend shutterbug. "I studied intensively at UCLA in the '70s, when I thought about changing careers," he said.

Nimoy also has kept busy lately by taping an introduction to the "Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner," airing on the channel at 10 p.m. Sunday.

"I'm opening the show," Nimoy said. "I'm talking to Bill about why I won't appear on the show. Bill is a very, very good friend of mine. We're like brothers. I hope they aren't too rough on him."

He's also done narration work with symphony orchestras and speaks at the occasional corporate lecture.

"I have not wanted for work since Sept. 8, 1966," said Nimoy of the day the original "Star Trek" began on NBC. "I have no complaints."

Among those scheduled to attend are "Star Trek" stars Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), George Takei (Hikaru Sulu) and Walter Koenig (Pavel Chekov); "Star Trek: The Next Generation" actors Jonathan Frakes (Comm. Riker); Brent Spiner (Data) and Michael Dorn (Worf); "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" stars Avery Brooks (Capt. Sisko), Armin Shimerman (Quark), Louise Fletcher (Kai Winn Adami) and James Darren (Vic Fontaine); "Star Trek: Voyager" actors Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Janeway), Robert Picardo (the Doctor) and Robert Duncan McNeill (Lt. Tom Paris); and "Star Trek: Enterprise" stars Scott Bakula (Capt. Jonathan Archer) and Robert Foxworth (Admin. V'Las).

A vendors room will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

A four-day pass is $142 and includes access to the theaters, exhibition room and supporting stars autograph room; preferred single day tickets are $65 each day; general admission single day tickets, available at the door (cash only), are $40 today, $45 Saturday and $40 Sunday; admission for children age 6 to 12 is $20; children younger than 6 are admitted free.

Autographs and photographs will be available for a fee.
