PLAYER'S EDGE: Red Rock giving away a car a day in new promotion

Each day from Saturday through Sept. 17, Red Rock Resort will give away a 2006 Chrysler 300M or Jeep Wrangler. Boarding Pass members will receive one entry for every 100 Boarding Pass points ($100 coin-in on slots, $200 on 100 percent-plus video poker games) or for every $200 buy-in on all table games (excluding live poker). At 8:15 p.m., the casino will electronically draw for 10 players (who must be present) for a chance to win $250 (six prizes), $500 (two prizes), $2,500 (one prize) or, for one lucky winner, the choice of the Chrysler or the Jeep.

The Silverton is running "Four a Kind Fever", a special bar and lounge only video poker promotion through the end of September. Each participating player with a "Four of a Kind" card will receive one mark every time he gets a four of a kind (quarter and above games, max coins played). It takes 10 four of a kinds (and they do not have to be of different ranks) for the player to complete the card and win $250 in free play. There is no limit to the number of cards you can fill. The guest with the most completed cards at the end of the promotion will also win a fully catered three-hour cruise on the Silverton Casino LCC House Boat. (Multiple four of a kind on multi-play games will each be counted and marked as being an individual hit. So if you are initially dealt a four of a kind on a five-play game, you have half of the card completed.)

Every night at 6 p.m., Hooters Hotel draws for three players (who must be present) to spin the "Waikiki Wheel of Chance" and possibly win a vacation to Hawaii. Drawing tickets can be earned for every 500 points ($500 coin-in on slots, $1,000 coin-in video poker). The nightly drawings will continue through Aug. 31 or when all four trips have been given away, whichever comes first.

Harrah's Entertainment is introducing a holiday gift program similar to the long-time programs at MGM Mirage and Venetian. Based on their play (from Jan. 1, 2006) at Harrah's Las Vegas, Flamingo Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, Rio, Paris and Bally's, Harrah's Total Reward members now receive "Gift Points" in addition to their normal Reward Credits. These Gift Points can be redeemed for a variety of gifts during two weeklong shopping events: Nov. 13-19 (at Harrah's Las Vegas) and Dec. 11-17 (at Caesars Palace).
